Your contribution directly helps us care for over 50 rescued chimpanzees

Imagine this: a baby chimpanzee, ripped from her mother's arms, destined for a life of captivity, a victim of the brutal bushmeat trade. This is the reality for thousands of chimpanzees in Africa every year. But there's hope.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, established in 1998, is a haven for these orphaned chimpanzees, rescued from a world where survival was impossible. We provide them with the care, comfort, and companionship they desperately need after enduring unimaginable trauma.

In the beginning, we cared for 19 chimpanzees. Now, we're home to 54. We have a strict policy to never turn away a chimpanzee victim. Our mission is simple: to protect chimpanzees and their environment for a sustainable future.
