Our "Change My Community" education program has reached its 100th school in Uganda, building a new generation of environmental stewards through hands-on learning.
We are thrilled to announce that our flagship education initiative, “Change My Community,” has now reached 100 schools across Uganda. This milestone represents thousands of young minds exposed to conservation science and environmental stewardship.
More Than a Lesson
Unlike traditional classroom teaching, our program takes students into the field. They plant trees, learn about local biodiversity, and in many cases, visit Ngamba Island to see our rescued chimpanzees firsthand.
“When a child sees a chimpanzee for the first time, something changes in them,” says our Education Coordinator. “They understand, in a visceral way, why conservation matters.”
The Ripple Effect
Students who participate in the program become ambassadors for conservation in their own communities. They share what they’ve learned with their families, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond the classroom walls.
